In the 4th grade some players leave the Intramural Division to join the Travel Division but Intramural soccer continues for many players. The Rockville Centre Soccer Club participates with other local soccer clubs in a Inter-town program, a wonderful program that provides a fun experience for all involved. The Inter-town program is divided into two divisions. Fourth and 5th graders participate in the Junior Division. Seventh and 8th graders participate in the Senior Division. Sixth graders may participate in either division and placement is based on enrollment. Volunteer parents coach the Inter-town teams and generally hold one practice a week. Games against other Inter-town teams are on weekends with some in RVC and some away. Registration for Inter-town encompasses both the fall and spring seasons.

After 3rd grade intramural soccer, the RVC soccer club (and most other surrounding town soccer organizations) do not continue with grade-based/birth year-specific intramural programs.  Instead, children have an opportunity to try out for a travel soccer program OR players may also participate in the Intertown soccer program.

Intertown is a multi-grade soccer program that is very low key, low commitment and lower priced than the travel option.  We have kids at all levels of play who participate and we play other nearby towns who have the same program.

Junior Intertown is for 4th, 5th & 6th** graders and we play 9v9 on a short field with 25 minute halves.

Senior Intertown is for 6th**, 7th and 8th graders and we play 11v11 on a full field with 30 minute halves.

**6th graders are placed on a junior or senior team depending on how the teams shake out with number of registered players, team balancing, etc.

If a session (i.e. Junior boys, Senior girls, etc.) has multiple RVC teams, they will play one another, and we currently play games against Oceanside, Lynbrook/East Rockaway, Valley Stream, East Meadow, Hewlett/Lawrence, New Hyde Park and Port Washington - so there is a light travel component for a few away games throughout the year.

While each game is win, lose or draw and there are no standings.  Each game is officiated by a volunteer referee, usually a high school kid from the home team's town.  As is the case everywhere else, poor sportsmanship is not tolerated by any player, coach or spectator.

Coaches are parent volunteers who also hold practices at their discretion/availability -- but definitely no more than once a week.

The intertown registration is a single registration for a full year: consecutive Fall and Spring seasons with players remaining on the same team all year.  Registration for the year is $175 and the cost of an Intertown uniform is $50 (and is a different uniform than the intramural or travel kits).

Registration for intertown is after travel teams get settled, so any player who might be undecided about which path to choose would have the option of trying out for travel and still having intertown as an option whether placed or not placed on a team.

This year registration will open at the end of June and players may sign up at a scouted rate through 7/31.  After July 31st, the price goes up and last chance registration will run through August 14th.  After 8/14, teams will be assigned any anyone attempting to register beyond that point is not guaranteed a spot.
