Next Steps Plus is our Third Grade Player Development Program that offers the combination weekly training and scrimmages. The scrimmages are versus teams from other soccer clubs with similar programs in a league.
Next Steps Plus is open to all Third Grade Players participating in our intramural division. The program will provide additional, higher level professional training to increase the technical and tactical knowledge and abilities of our Third Grade intramural players. Intramural coaches will be encouraged to participate to improve their coaching ability, although the main objective is the development of our players.
Next Steps Plus Fall 2008 consists of two components:
- Eight (8) week training program offered in addition to intramural training and play. These sessions will be held on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon.
- Home and away scrimmages against teams from other local soccer clubs. Scrimmages for girls will be played on Saturday, while boys will play on Sunday. These days are scheduled opposite of the game day for our intramural program. The number of scrimmages each player will participate in will depend on enrollment.
PLEASE NOTE: Commitment to the intramural program (both practice and games) is a prerequisite for Next Steps Plus. Players must attend the weekly Next Steps Plus training sessions in order to be eligible for the scrimmages. The cost of Next Steps Plus for the fall of 2008 training sessions and scrimmages is $100. Registration is done online using the same system used for intramural registration. Select the check box for the Next Steps Plus program and include any training day requests in the Special Request box. This program is a supplement to the intramual program for 3rd graders. Participants must be also be registered for the intramural program.

The program will start in early September. Your child will be assigned to a weekly one-hour afternoon training session. We will send you an email to confirm the training session details. We must have your email address in order to communicate with you.
Player groupings and movement between groups is at the discretion of the assigned trainer. While the program is open to all players, there is an expected level of commitment and focus on behalf of the players involved. The program is geared toward players seeking to advance their level of play.
The Club will assign players so as to evenly distribute participation in the program among eligible players. Due to the volume of participants, placement requests cannot be guaranteed.
PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES
Attend all Next Step Plus training sessions and scheduled scrimmages
Attend all intramural team practices and games
Be prepared to have fun and learn while participating in a cooperative manner
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Insure appropriate behavior of your child
Insure player’s attendance at all scheduled program and intramural activities
Support all aspects of the program and the coaching staff
Provide the enrollment form and fee within requested time period
Consider volunteering as team parents at training sessions and contact person for communications
